While learning about mobility in 2001 I was struck by the advances being made by telemetry within formula one racing. The benefits of machine to machine (M2M) interactions were immediately visible but not affordable to the general public.

Advances in micro computing were going to change all of that and I spent much of 2006 looking at small factor computing and how advances would make M2M accessible to everyday users. While very early days in the Internet of Things (IoT) its long term impact will be significant. Wearable computing is going to be something which will be with us for a very long time.
